This is the first entry, of a series of posts indexing the PowerShell Blogitems on my Old Blog /\/\o\/\/ PowerShelled
I have been asked a couple of times for a list or an index to the Entries on my Old blog as some of the information and examples are bit hard to find.
I often search my old blog on keywords (for example GUI,WMI,AD,secureString) using the Google Search on the bottom of each page, that works very well and most of the time get fast and good results with that searching for particular information (Warning ! : The blogger search on top of the page is not very good and will find much less )
but even for me it sometimes a bit hard to find some information back (and I know where to search for ;-)) and as I still wanted to do a check which posts on my old blog still apply to PowerShell 1.0 and which posts could use an update / rewrite on my new blog as some information given is not correct anymore in the RTM version of PowerShell 1.0 and/or the examples and scripts on my old blog do not work in PowerShell 1.0 as they where written in a beta version of PowerShell ( Monad / MSH ) and there where some breaking changes since then :
you find this breaking changes mostly in the posts the WMI and ADSI wrappers that are changed since RC2 See :
PowerShell : WMI Support in RC2 : Privileges and connection settings (Series part 3)
PowerShell : WMI Support in RC2 (Series part 2)
PowerShell : WMI Support in RC2 (Series part 1)
and in RC1 some Cmdlets where renamed :
Hence I decided to give it a go and to make a series giving a list of the entries on my old blog that are still interesting and which are not current anymore, to make the information on my Old blog easier to find, and to check all the posts on the way.
So this is the first post in this series, starting with the December 2006 Blogitems and I will work my way back Month by Month till October 2005, to list the entries on my old blog that I think still are interesting, where changes are needed I will explain them and/or make an update/rewrite of the Topic on this Blog.
To start I made another PowerShell TextScraping script ( See tag : TextScraping ) to download all the Archive Pages of my old blog to get a list of all entries,
I removed the entries that I did think no longer interesting, Added some information about the content covered to the other entries and list them below :

PowerShell : Access remote eventlogs [.NET]
How to Access Remote Eventlogs using .NET
Jeffery Hicks did a 2 part series on his blog about accessing evenlogs in PowerShell

in the second part he did use WMI to acces remote eventlogs, I posted an example using .NET for this.
PowerShell : making Custum Enums
Making custum enums on-the-fly in PowerShell using Reflection
It is not possible yet to create Enums and classes directly in PowerShell, but there is a way by using Reflection
In this post I show how
That's it for December 2006 , the other posts in this series will be less text and more links ;-)
If you think a topic might deserve a bit more information or a new / extra blogentry, Something does not work that I might have missed, or if you have other tips or Question please let me know in the Comments ,
If no further information is given with a link, [ I think that ] the information should still be correct for PowerShell 1.0 RTM and all examples in posts on my old blog that are linked from this index should still work, so if not I missed something ;-) .
Enjoy,
Greetings /\/\o\/\/
